Hello Everyone!

We’re here with the second part of our big update on the pages of the first volume of Tales of Midgard the Age of Magic. Similarly to our last blog post on this matter, we’ll also show all of the full pages that were changed before the updates and after that.

Chapter 1 Page 14

Before

After

This change should have happened in the last update, but we missed it. Anyways… The earring of the magiknight on this page was missing in the third panel.

Chapter 5 Page 4

Before

After

The brown of the rocks that are hanging from the roof in the second panel left the lineart on this page. This is now corrected.

Chapter 6 Page 9

Before

After

The tail of Anne’s speech bubble in the middle panel was slightly adjusted on this page, so it points more towards her, rather than towards Bernard.

Chapter 6 Page 10

Before

After

On the next page the speech bubble placement was revamped, so now it’s easier to follow.

Chapter 6 Page 11

Before

After

There’s another change to text bubbles. We gave tails to a few speech/thought bubbles here so it’s more obvious who says/thinks them.

Chapter 6 Page 12

Before

After

The scar on Bernard’s chin was missing on this page.

Chapter 6 Page 15

Before

After

Yet again the scar on Bernard’s chin is missing on this page.

Chapter 7 Page 2

Before

After

Another page with the same problem, Bernard’s scar is missing.

Chapter 7 Page 3

Before

After

On this page there’s a simple problem with words. Gloves do not go with this, bit with these, in plural.

Chapter 7 Page 5

Before

After

Bernard’s coat on page 5 is supposed to be visible between his legs, but it wasn’t. Now that’s fixed.

Chapter 7 Page 11

Before

After

There are two changes on page 11 of chapter 7. Both are related to the *kping* sound effect. The original page had two different effects, some were with white outlines and some were without that. We changed this so now all the sound effects here have white outlines. The other change is in panel 5 where we added an extra sound effect to show that Anne is still under fire here.

Chapter 8 Page 9

Before

After

We changed Erik’s line a bit on page 9 of chapter 8. It just sounds way better this way.

Chapter 9 Page 5

Before

After

The next change is on page 5 of chapter 9. We added in a sound effect for the gate clicking into place and stabilizing.

Chapter 9 Page 13

Before

After

Next up is page 13 of chapter 9. The shadows behind the speech bubbles on the top of the page were a bit too prominent, so we toned them down a bit and made them less dark.

Chapter 10 Page 3

Before

After

Page 3 of chapter 10 is where the next change happened. We moved the speech bubbles around a bit such that they are easier to read in the correct order.

Chapter 10 Page 4

Before

After

Page 4 is the next change. Here we changed the shadows behind the speech bubbles again, turning them lighter just by a bit.

Chapter 10 Page 13

Before

After

The next change is a pretty big one. On page 13 we improved the castle-like structure that is the guild by a lot. This is most visible on the actual walls, but there are other smaller changes as well.

Chapter 10 Page 16

Before

After

The last change we made is on page 16. For this change, we’d like to thank Quieteyes, a reader of Tales of Midgard. We absolutely missed the error here, but luckily it was pointed out that the students would see the numbers backwards in the original version, so we flipped the numbers. It is a bit harder to read this way, but it makes a lot more sense like this as those numbers are there mainly for the students.

These, and the changes shown in the first part of this post, are all the changes we made to the pages of the first volume of Tales of Midgard the Age of Magic. We sincerely hope you like these changes and we also hope that they enhance your reading experience a bit. As for how and when our print will be available… Well… We don’t know yet. What we do know is that we’ll make a test print version first which we plan checking for errors. After that, if all goes right, we’ll get the first actual print versions of Tales of Midgard out, but don’t expect this to happen anytime soon. We’ll keep you updated on our progress. Have fun reading!
